Love At First Swatch

I woke up today thinking it was going to be a day just like any other. Oh, how wrong i was! Today, my friends, is the day I fell in love. Thats right, I said it, the L-word. L-O-V-E.

Now I'm not the kind of girl that just throws the L-word around casually and just, you know, for funzies. When i use the L-word, I mean business. So when I woke up this morning to find the love of my life just waiting for me on the kitchen bench, well, I was pretty darn excited, to say the least. So without further ado, I introduce the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.

Now i know that you've probably read at least 50 different reviews on this palette already and that it is super hyped up by the beauty blogging community at large, but there is an incredibly good reason for this: it's freaking magnificent! I mean, there aren't too many other palettes out there that give you 12 incredibly pigmented, not to mention super pretty (imaginative description right there!) neutral eyeshadow shades. It's basically palette porn.

I do have to admit that the first Naked Palette will always have a very special place in my heart, and i still don't have the Naked 2 to compare this one to (who knows, maybe I will be even more in love with that? Unlikely, but you never know), however the Naked 3 is just bloody gorgeous.

The palette, whilst retaining its "neutral" status has a rose gold theme to it and the colours seem to work incredibly well together. I haven't decided which is my favourite shade yet because they're all so ridiculously lovely, however, I'm betting it will end up being either dust, buzz or trick, as they seem to be the most glittery of the bunch and i know how much I adored sidecar from the original Naked Palette. Side note: Am i the only one that loved sidecar? Seriously? Because i feel like I must be. But really, whats wrong with a bit (or a lot) of glitter fall out every now and then? Embrace the glitter, I always say!

Anyway, enough chat and on with the swatches!

WARNING: Following photographs may cause extreme excitement. Best viewed in private to avoid social awkwardness and/or embarrassment.

Strange: Slightly (and I mean very slightly) pearlescent, white.

Dust: Super shimmery pale pinky-peach with glitter. I like to think of it as fairy dust for ma eyes!

Burnout: Another pinky-peach shade minus the glitter though. More of a satin finish.

Limit: One of only two matte shades in the palette. It is a subtle pinkish tan colour.

Left to riht: Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar

Buzz: Rose-toned satin with some micro glitter thrown in for good measure!

Trick: More of a copper toned pink again with micro glitter (Win for the micro glitter!)

Nooner (and the prize for best name in the palette goes to...): Matte taupe. That is all.

Liar: Pinky-Mauvey colour with a satin finish. This one probably has the best consistency of the bunch.

Left to right: Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart

Factory: Warm brown with a satin finish.

Mugshot: Warm golden taupe with a satin finish.

Darkside: Dark plummy-taupe. Satin.

Blackheart: Dark black-brown matte base with copper and pink micro glitter (the micro glitter doesn't show very well in the swatch, however in real life it is definitely noticeable).

So there you have it! The Urban Decay Naked 3 in all its naked glory!
